Labor and Delivery

Well lets go back to my Dr.'s appointment on August 13th which was when I was 36 weeks and getting checked to see if I was dilated for the first time. The Dr. had told me I was at a station -3 and not dilated at all, which he said was normal. Well that night I had HORRIBLE back pain which continued the next two days. Thursday around 5 p.m I felt tired so I went to go lay down and felt a gush of liquid so I stood up and liquid just started flowing out..at first it was clear so I knew my water had broken, but then it turned to blood and that's when I started freaking out and my mom called the ambulance and they thought I was hemorrhaging so they took me to the closet hospital which was not the hospital my Dr. worked at. The only thing I was worried about was Jensen, but they reassured me he was just fine. They didn't really know what was going on, but they kept telling me baby was fine and they were just worried about me and the bleeding. They ran all kinds of test and still couldn't figure out where the bleeding was coming from and they weren't telling me much. I was NERVOUS! They wouldn't give me any pain medicine yet or let me talk to a Dr. I was getting stressed out and just plain SCARED at this point. Well the Dr. finally comes in around 7a.m to talk to me and tells me he thinks since my water broke before I was dilated that my cervix just crumbled which caused me to bleed out so much. NOBODY could tell me what really happened though, and I still have no idea. The Dr. also told me I could finally have my epidural! YES!!! About time. The anesthesiologist that did my epidural was also a pain management Dr. so I didn't feel the "big stick" of the needle at all! He was awesome! well after I got my epidural my labor progressed VERY quickly. Within the first hour after my epidural I was at a 5! Thirty minutes later I start feeling A LOT of pressure, and the nurses and doctors were NOWHERE to be found. I started SCREAMING, I just couldn't take it any longer, I felt the need to push. Ten minutes later my nurse is finally back in to check me and she said "oh my god you're crowning" I knew it!!!! Finally things get going and I get to start pushing! I was in active labor for a total of an hour and thirty minutes! I was blessed with a perfect baby boy at 2:51 and my life was changed forever and I have never felt a love so strong. Mommy loves you Jensen!
